I had forgotten how hard rewriting can be. This is probably the hardest part of the business for me as a writer. I love the bright thrill of blazing through the first draft. I even enjoy the second pass, where I do a little clean-up work and start to bring the plot, pacing, themes, and other textures inline with each other.

But the really deep rewrites, oh man, I struggle through this part.

There is nothing to do except suck it up and keep moving forward. Well, I suppose I could give up, but really.
